My lighting was terrible.<br />
I finished this top today. This is made up of the "wanna be quarter square triangles". No one has told me what they are called yet. Sadly, it only used up 48 of my half-square triangles, but I did use up the floral print that I have had around for awhile!

Who do you know that has more half-square triangles than me?? Come on! There must be someone!
Well, I sure would like to meet them!
I think I have an awful lot of them. It comes from demonstrating my <a href="http://http//www.marinandcolusa.com/stitching-lines/">Stitching Lines</a> at quilt shows. I can't seem to use them up.
<b>I think they reproduce when I'm not looking. </b>
And some of the squares have gotten together that never should have met up. I can't even show you the really bad ones.
They are punished and sent to the trash bin!!
Quarter square triangles use up two Half-Square Triangles!
<b>Yipee</b>!! That's two gone!
My half-square triangle supply is made with 3-1/2" squares. Some I have already squared up to 3".
But they work just fine when paired up with untrimmed HST's.
<b>Another Yipee</b>!
I take two HST's that look good together, press seams to the dark, stack them right sides together, with dark on light.
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO6PqxdoCO2QN77Ar_YiMRhUu4w2EGhdfKWitAvi9krDFdrZVQFGjdfE_U84FfTNBLXIY5bPaXTYXyvz8fACHRbX98uxhdZVrmZROpg3mJ9lMuQYWj0Zpts19ykvyVSHsXozfItt_iKyg/s1600/IMG_2685.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO6PqxdoCO2QN77Ar_YiMRhUu4w2EGhdfKWitAvi9krDFdrZVQFGjdfE_U84FfTNBLXIY5bPaXTYXyvz8fACHRbX98uxhdZVrmZROpg3mJ9lMuQYWj0Zpts19ykvyVSHsXozfItt_iKyg/s320/IMG_2685.JPG" /></a>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixBRSaLkowESoJTgb09PYMv_qIof1R11JoFVOMYqSxQ5lSrG87_KOzeQGiSOQORZy4XHxWPWNJASPgBmHNCowxyhvgkX8IL0mn_YN7kV9bK59LRKyKhWfaIcvRPIQTMb0eFHgSdDROU7o/s1600/IMG_2686.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixBRSaLkowESoJTgb09PYMv_qIof1R11JoFVOMYqSxQ5lSrG87_KOzeQGiSOQORZy4XHxWPWNJASPgBmHNCowxyhvgkX8IL0mn_YN7kV9bK59LRKyKhWfaIcvRPIQTMb0eFHgSdDROU7o/s320/IMG_2686.JPG" /></a>
I pin the two ends of the seam, and lay a small strip of Stitching Lines on top. I line up one horizontal dotted line with the seam line on the top HST, and try to line up the center-line of strip with the corner points. I stitch on the two dotted lines.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizHoZhr5h6sRL2AzZObsxpxvmxdbNFADJ3OpBJ40R6sxgtF2tKMv1gsGgDCVcQxrXJ4kloksl56nbGnpIIAudAsOSywd3fDzQNbxv1R3b1Vn_d4GuYTaerfCQLDl1R3CPy9_AoGzs7lQs/s1600/IMG_2688.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizHoZhr5h6sRL2AzZObsxpxvmxdbNFADJ3OpBJ40R6sxgtF2tKMv1gsGgDCVcQxrXJ4kloksl56nbGnpIIAudAsOSywd3fDzQNbxv1R3b1Vn_d4GuYTaerfCQLDl1R3CPy9_AoGzs7lQs/s320/IMG_2688.JPG" /></a></div>
Next, I tear away the sides of the Stitching Lines and cut on the solid line.
I leave the small 1/4" remainder and press against it.
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUiq_OrFn6AJxphTnHiLLRQNHoSBMWxiq6T8TrBE00BgUzu7D0e88dU73Uw5W3nwqiT8CBLjnDNno2SJn0K_NYKLxf89Jq50Tsw4M-04_VLsLVvElIwE1KDXBHJ-3KVWvj3hrrccymaSo/s1600/IMG_2689.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUiq_OrFn6AJxphTnHiLLRQNHoSBMWxiq6T8TrBE00BgUzu7D0e88dU73Uw5W3nwqiT8CBLjnDNno2SJn0K_NYKLxf89Jq50Tsw4M-04_VLsLVvElIwE1KDXBHJ-3KVWvj3hrrccymaSo/s320/IMG_2689.JPG" /></a>

Then I square up the quarter square triangle to 2-1/2".<br />
All done. Two HST's gone and now I have two quarter square triangles.<br />
<b>OOPS. What happened?</b><br />
Not only do my HST's reproduce.<br />
Now they change color on me. What's up with that??

I've got two more that still need to be quilted. Maybe that will be it for awhile. I want to get back to my second Scrappy Trip for my bedroom. I never thought I could make the same quilt over and over and over again. But, I enjoy making these little baby quilts. i've got a system going now and I love picking out all the fabrics. If I only used two fabrics, that would be a different story. The fun is in the choosing.

This quilt top was finished a long time ago. Just quilted it yesterday and washed it this morning. I am sooooo trying to finish up old projects.</div>
I don't know where I found the bird fabric, but hope I have more. I really like it. I quilted it with an all over meandering stitch, the only thing I can do on my Grace frame!<br />

The light inside my bedroom does it no justice. I think I picked out a wood grain fabric for the binding. I'll have to look that up.<br />
But who knows where it is!!<br />
I am such a slob when it comes to my sewing room.<br />

I have impressed myself..........two baby quilts quilted in one week!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
This is who keeps me busy two or three days a week. Little Evie Jo, a sleeping beauty!<br />

I had high hopes for yesterday's quilting. At day's end, though, I had only <i><b>started</b></i> two blocks for my Scrappy Trip. And my plan was to make and finish six blocks! It was a lazy day for me. So, now I am behind.<br />
<br />
This afternoon, I quilted this baby quilt. I used a serpentine stitch and quilted diagonal lines. It's very easy. It keeps the quilt together. And that's always my goal. I wish I liked to quilt, but I don't. Now, into the wash it goes. And then I will put a scrappy binding on it.<br />
<br />

That means more sewing time for me! Yipee!!<br />
<br />
I plan on sewing together the last two rows of this quilt, today, and
maybe quilting it. I have already sold two of these, one online at my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/marinandcolusa">Etsy</a> shop. But
this is pretty much the end of this giraffe fabric, only a half yard left.<br />
You know I never
noticed, but there are also lions with the giraffes. This quilt gets a new name!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEkrYV58MKc4hzn9NykwD9k8p4TCTNa8FQB9TenYkRR-GsOuyIvDq0Em8hG67VVv_K5ElsFWJptrGZRPHHTd2SWJY6O3SUbPH9v_QxL8EnEZbZklEQxYFiTgQ0Gora5b3YtiDm8rvdaF4/s1600/IMG_2560.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEkrYV58MKc4hzn9NykwD9k8p4TCTNa8FQB9TenYkRR-GsOuyIvDq0Em8hG67VVv_K5ElsFWJptrGZRPHHTd2SWJY6O3SUbPH9v_QxL8EnEZbZklEQxYFiTgQ0Gora5b3YtiDm8rvdaF4/s320/IMG_2560.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I finished my first Scrappy Trip last week. I wonder how long it will sit around, before I quilt it!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMXDI9ooj5_a0f8hsYna3UK7CwZMRV88ksWQ6BjG3OCM4wwZL_CEz6Uq7A3zT5xcBq9Kt8qR1puA48_3sQ8CvcGExnQsqfk3zMCxfp5Q8jHqaELzIy3GiUC-cmNKdxNaPAR_PmQsi3-RY/s1600/IMG_2564.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMXDI9ooj5_a0f8hsYna3UK7CwZMRV88ksWQ6BjG3OCM4wwZL_CEz6Uq7A3zT5xcBq9Kt8qR1puA48_3sQ8CvcGExnQsqfk3zMCxfp5Q8jHqaELzIy3GiUC-cmNKdxNaPAR_PmQsi3-RY/s320/IMG_2564.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
A couple days ago, I started another Scrappy Trip. This one will get quilted for sure, since I am going to put it in my bedroom. I pulled the colors from my pillow shams, which I made from a <u><b>way</b></u> too heavy quilt I had bought for my bed. I cut it up for these two shams and have plenty more quilt to use for something else.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm_zqAd6pUjOfpBIn0c9CQWDiZir73HzB19eunlEUP5RPbtTLM6qya424YHzu30OVRPmmtRSyfOpVHG0hMkeFzYLEQt_19AcDFfuF4B2yTVFO95F2NvqoDQgsABQ69ewvu9s0qjTGt_6U/s1600/IMG_2561.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm_zqAd6pUjOfpBIn0c9CQWDiZir73HzB19eunlEUP5RPbtTLM6qya424YHzu30OVRPmmtRSyfOpVHG0hMkeFzYLEQt_19AcDFfuF4B2yTVFO95F2NvqoDQgsABQ69ewvu9s0qjTGt_6U/s320/IMG_2561.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I will definitely be sewing more blocks for this quilt today. I only have 12 more to go. And the strips are already cut and organized into blocks. I set a goal of at least 6 a day. <span style="color: red;">Easy Peasy</span>!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I think it is time for a new post! I got bitten by the Scrappy Trip bug. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">These blocks are addicting and so easy. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">After I got all these blocks sewn, put up on the wall and stood back, I could see something was missing.
</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRco7k5oyq5jsMwBkOnOppoQmLESKiuQCPi_gzPbN9nSte1vQcG3bgoNu9Oid6eXN-UURAq6gj8lslOvR07ZlDlafZn2ip29rqh4trsfPfhEmj4ERh2TP5xUd1Tp3HX6jQ6ZeMAX4MV0U/s1600/IMG_2508.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRco7k5oyq5jsMwBkOnOppoQmLESKiuQCPi_gzPbN9nSte1vQcG3bgoNu9Oid6eXN-UURAq6gj8lslOvR07ZlDlafZn2ip29rqh4trsfPfhEmj4ERh2TP5xUd1Tp3HX6jQ6ZeMAX4MV0U/s320/IMG_2508.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Almost all the colors were cool. I needed to warm it up a bit.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">So I am adding more blocks with some yellow.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> I think it gives it a little more interest.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Also, I can see that I need more darks.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNCZJXEy6h9smD__PNaCgGhczd45LwcRHW8MYf4u5sUi-0Y2TRtbjspTuiNBgk3vswgJdFFqtjzSuLExQClksTh_vk-izeuMKT32MKS1R7teYFWcpyWgsHd_ox954peI9UDZ9UDfK5qwA/s1600/IMG_2507.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNCZJXEy6h9smD__PNaCgGhczd45LwcRHW8MYf4u5sUi-0Y2TRtbjspTuiNBgk3vswgJdFFqtjzSuLExQClksTh_vk-izeuMKT32MKS1R7teYFWcpyWgsHd_ox954peI9UDZ9UDfK5qwA/s320/IMG_2507.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I will switch out some blocks with the new ones and move them all around. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I wish this used up more scraps. My stash never seems to dwindle. What's up with that. Even if I make this queen size, I don't think I will see a dent.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One thing I found out about this pattern by Bonnie Hunter <a href="http://quiltville.com/scrappytrips.shtml">(link here)</a>, was that the seams don't always mesh together nicely. Even Bonnie says you may need to repress or unstitch and adjust direction of seams. That I don't like to do. Her method for putting together the block is great. My only change was the final pressing. Those seams, I pressed open. Then I can match up a seam pressed in one direction with a seam pressed open. Less bulk for me.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEWExb1SyM-N1d24zpnPGwv1N2Bl5GWGOJ7H22NWdk41D9bQz-d-r_XmuT9JcJqzcVTP88sRuBWp37dEbzjSuYflAW-Gs7nAW1IIXoAlyss6T52LQxcHexeWGHKrXdpjwP5MhgMax7HBc/s1600/IMG_2510.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEWExb1SyM-N1d24zpnPGwv1N2Bl5GWGOJ7H22NWdk41D9bQz-d-r_XmuT9JcJqzcVTP88sRuBWp37dEbzjSuYflAW-Gs7nAW1IIXoAlyss6T52LQxcHexeWGHKrXdpjwP5MhgMax7HBc/s320/IMG_2510.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM5drcbaU_EqBF0jcKUn1JKx97W6SzmNIK0NQBEJNRjyE2JbNntdvZu_lwHWUBkdAFMhyphenhyphen5p0_pbBvAigLaPNEn5ANaLpqHO7HLEg49v-nYli2KCMEdlvRZMp-ziSdMSv8jK7TAVp0QkIg/s1600/IMG_2511.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM5drcbaU_EqBF0jcKUn1JKx97W6SzmNIK0NQBEJNRjyE2JbNntdvZu_lwHWUBkdAFMhyphenhyphen5p0_pbBvAigLaPNEn5ANaLpqHO7HLEg49v-nYli2KCMEdlvRZMp-ziSdMSv8jK7TAVp0QkIg/s320/IMG_2511.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am already thinking of other color combinations I might use. like I say, this is addicting.</div>

I won't apologize, for if I had posted anything, it would have been very boring indeed!!<br />
<br />
My little granddaughter, Evie had her first birthday last week, but no party for her.<br />
<br />
Instead, we were all visiting my son, Andy in the hospital. He broke his left leg in three places when he crashed a motorcycle. After eight days in the hospital, he is now staying with us at our house. Since he also messed up his right foot, he is in a wheelchair until he can graduate to crutches in a few weeks. I am pretty much his mode of transportation!!<br />
I have been able to make a few notebooks that I am slowly listing on <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/marinandcolusa">Etsy</a>.<br />

These are repeats of a couple of quilts that sold pretty quickly before.
But heck, what's a girl to do with a gazillion half-square triangles?? You can see more photos <a href="www.etsy.com/listing/103829463/baby-quilt-baby-gift-shower-gift-bird">here</a> and <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/103827946/baby-quilt-baby-gift-giraffe-baby-shower">here</a>.

Why can't I finish something before I start with a new project???</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As I was working on this little baby quilt, </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4ALC4PfrV-JiOHjhQ7gER_o_6rK27cbWkGoLCXqo1uwBitj9Ln_nFRKy-_OcN3Dne1X620rpDS9ipJ3uUBtVqtzcTo1RV_cWybQmyHKFdEvBni7CwGTw7I5uhKqcYJULdTjZ4xG5XYwo/s1600/IMG_1622.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4ALC4PfrV-JiOHjhQ7gER_o_6rK27cbWkGoLCXqo1uwBitj9Ln_nFRKy-_OcN3Dne1X620rpDS9ipJ3uUBtVqtzcTo1RV_cWybQmyHKFdEvBni7CwGTw7I5uhKqcYJULdTjZ4xG5XYwo/s320/IMG_1622.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got inspired to make another <a href="http://www.marinandcolusa.com/loose-diamonds-quilt-pattern/">Loose Diamonds</a>.
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ahhh!! Where did that come from!!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj98Fs_Se0gJNlqZNEAbDP8XvfELaaMl0WGcJAa1yX2wtUKn0XeAWptEhVhZKLi-3CTXriCMNRwVwqdpkwJvpjLjzzGEAPGN1kxxfXdv-_ysecPR3S5YEObcv1Wtr3425IBIrL8HOFoJkY/s1600/IMG_1621.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj98Fs_Se0gJNlqZNEAbDP8XvfELaaMl0WGcJAa1yX2wtUKn0XeAWptEhVhZKLi-3CTXriCMNRwVwqdpkwJvpjLjzzGEAPGN1kxxfXdv-_ysecPR3S5YEObcv1Wtr3425IBIrL8HOFoJkY/s320/IMG_1621.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Who knows? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I am getting ready to release my Loose Diamonds in a PDF format on Etsy. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I guess it has been in the back of mind. What else is there?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I didn't have to buy any new fabric for the Loose Diamonds......all from my stash. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's what I like about this pattern.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I will show them both again when I finish. </div>

<span style="font-size: small;">Just in case you think I had fallen </span></div>
<div style="color: black; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;">off the face of the earth....</span></div>
<div style="color: black; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is proof that I am still around.
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLbhHD3Opm1F4NhluitE8GTpxSngbiSYplExeGNw6XMhlYDEn2LNDMuxavX6JYyOvImrErJFKNYDWcljxCrjHemUpczyRAhQ13WLWtvX-ggwxLZw9wACCscJapK77f2Fris8LnqFZbInc/s1600/IMG_1590.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLbhHD3Opm1F4NhluitE8GTpxSngbiSYplExeGNw6XMhlYDEn2LNDMuxavX6JYyOvImrErJFKNYDWcljxCrjHemUpczyRAhQ13WLWtvX-ggwxLZw9wACCscJapK77f2Fris8LnqFZbInc/s320/IMG_1590.JPG" width="320" /><span><span style="background-color: lime;"></span></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been working on two baby quilts using the Half-Square triangles I make at quilt shows.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a ton of quilts to make, 'cause I made a ton of HST's using my <a href="http://www.marinandcolusa.com/stitching-lines/">Stitching Lines</a> at the two back-to-back quilt shows I vended at in the last two weeks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLTeeYkNofgXanblbO4nPX0clcFuf351xqn05UKD8UJFUQwFHFbtH5sA9qZ4mYTL8fIIcPSE8qnTwST5I7KE7DKLIxsdUyWsDJbUIWYQnKANjfIdgXZzIpgnoVZP5zpUCc5ufcSdejsBI/s1600/IMG_1591.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLTeeYkNofgXanblbO4nPX0clcFuf351xqn05UKD8UJFUQwFHFbtH5sA9qZ4mYTL8fIIcPSE8qnTwST5I7KE7DKLIxsdUyWsDJbUIWYQnKANjfIdgXZzIpgnoVZP5zpUCc5ufcSdejsBI/s320/IMG_1591.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this really pretty bird fabric at Joann's. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You know, the fabric that is really priced way too high!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I fell for it and bought a bunch. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All the HST's use fabric from my stash, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
which doesn't seem to get any smaller. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What's up with that!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsKbWwsQKtx0i_oOz4PQjZmIul1kWJSxfzMnS6aEPuQrBvopPt-qr1Lk2-GBPGqrjR4L8nR1QD2PfuWEszSpitCGPEZ3wizMWQWUpD7yufwpAhZJrXtG0FwW5_PxRKL9xZTZiq_Jq_pcU/s1600/IMG_1595.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsKbWwsQKtx0i_oOz4PQjZmIul1kWJSxfzMnS6aEPuQrBvopPt-qr1Lk2-GBPGqrjR4L8nR1QD2PfuWEszSpitCGPEZ3wizMWQWUpD7yufwpAhZJrXtG0FwW5_PxRKL9xZTZiq_Jq_pcU/s320/IMG_1595.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I rearranged the HST's to make diamonds. Had to do something different.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a second quilt using a floral fabric from Joann's.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just loved it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Again, not a dent in my fabric stash!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQwuXD3gP6BGyKZVVD1yDYsdeZKvZEt2FBc2UB4gN4v2vlf7xKyLoU0ydBsaWi00hqlxEDbthYC_bMj0AhMPalJclw6hzufbpylR60_-OH6CjjwhhqNDPz-EXjjFI-U6PuthB89sVDWY0/s1600/IMG_1592.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQwuXD3gP6BGyKZVVD1yDYsdeZKvZEt2FBc2UB4gN4v2vlf7xKyLoU0ydBsaWi00hqlxEDbthYC_bMj0AhMPalJclw6hzufbpylR60_-OH6CjjwhhqNDPz-EXjjFI-U6PuthB89sVDWY0/s320/IMG_1592.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, I need to get some backing fabric for both. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Why is that always a challenge?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKdPxqrqIO7LCv8WNV5w0hKLqmPfST9i9BUDyEKGtWYBPYt042S-VFtodlU1aGwefnGiZiWSw8km5q__Zna19MXgpwFywC-1BC9_2aCCz-8TkaxA5JBQHbkWOmIi8_LzFv_zYDn_j1fic/s1600/IMG_1594.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKdPxqrqIO7LCv8WNV5w0hKLqmPfST9i9BUDyEKGtWYBPYt042S-VFtodlU1aGwefnGiZiWSw8km5q__Zna19MXgpwFywC-1BC9_2aCCz-8TkaxA5JBQHbkWOmIi8_LzFv_zYDn_j1fic/s320/IMG_1594.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbSTPdX5jIUGSDKLuWUT5gfpgrVwIQ1zckQ3RJOmdnYyXqjhv8XTtzd8vcKnWYBi6nTYWbNHFUXeVosZRMi3XX2HtRN0qIrTDgdE_IcA9V5YRtRLCFyg6EsMIxrnfFtXJhB2XLFw0vQqE/s1600/IMG_1582.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbSTPdX5jIUGSDKLuWUT5gfpgrVwIQ1zckQ3RJOmdnYyXqjhv8XTtzd8vcKnWYBi6nTYWbNHFUXeVosZRMi3XX2HtRN0qIrTDgdE_IcA9V5YRtRLCFyg6EsMIxrnfFtXJhB2XLFw0vQqE/s320/IMG_1582.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once I finished making the scrappy binding for this little wiener dog quilt, I tried something new.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know, I know, this is an old technique. It's been around for years. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I never tried it. I guess I am sometimes slow to try things out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And now since I have a little baby crawling around, I didn't want to take the chance of dropping straight pins on the floor in the family room. I always bind in front of the television, don't you?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVd4d0AROyj5SMETw4meArAVCJS6DJ4Jl1apB7IV9w8xryvl6EvaONEVYVWuqrYOaVSAeNLw5wJbUpoAeP11NlDSnfU0AJCtFebKFv9tYLmQay2sKIV_5Wk8R11FVIhFWBcPQ_pCu79xw/s1600/clips.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVd4d0AROyj5SMETw4meArAVCJS6DJ4Jl1apB7IV9w8xryvl6EvaONEVYVWuqrYOaVSAeNLw5wJbUpoAeP11NlDSnfU0AJCtFebKFv9tYLmQay2sKIV_5Wk8R11FVIhFWBcPQ_pCu79xw/s320/clips.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I figure I can keep count of 12 clips. Unlike pins, if I drop one, I will know it.</div>

And the clips work great. I should have tried this years ago. </div>

By the way. isn't the backing perfect for this quilt?</div>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04393395003479822301noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3345707899361573108.post-89351561579193766732012-04-21T11:16:00.001-07:002012-04-21T11:16:23.232-07:00Sewing Binding Strips Together With Stitching Lines<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
Today, I made a scrappy binding for this little baby quilt.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihJ10AmgPyDU1wrUVmV81N1-oM1S4WxfgmDQsC426Q6lBHa3-7Gk59eHaabghlZ0dk6cntdJy2wFT4r8XHI9PX9gMgG-c1tBq6U2h9g71_2e0ZAWo-bzVG9QUR8idds88r-UvaEHYjuFE/s1600/IMG_1577.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihJ10AmgPyDU1wrUVmV81N1-oM1S4WxfgmDQsC426Q6lBHa3-7Gk59eHaabghlZ0dk6cntdJy2wFT4r8XHI9PX9gMgG-c1tBq6U2h9g71_2e0ZAWo-bzVG9QUR8idds88r-UvaEHYjuFE/s320/IMG_1577.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I sewed the different sections of binding together using my <a href="http://www.marinandcolusa.com/stitching-lines/">Stitching Lines</a>. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh08ahpY4_cnZzQczExOcIjJKQjEsZCS7ftYu4D1_MANLMOW2zBtC3KG9ZelejX6giAXsNowuL2Zm11Cuuk8EkYIkMaIImMc8z0-6vjgCIbZjqGX9hi78rmhBHZq7AqfEKwG0rYFGf_ORQ/s1600/IMG_1578.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh08ahpY4_cnZzQczExOcIjJKQjEsZCS7ftYu4D1_MANLMOW2zBtC3KG9ZelejX6giAXsNowuL2Zm11Cuuk8EkYIkMaIImMc8z0-6vjgCIbZjqGX9hi78rmhBHZq7AqfEKwG0rYFGf_ORQ/s320/IMG_1578.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As you can see, I can use each piece of Stitching Lines three times. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuQ3BrkUrnzAsrmDtB3IJi5G7HNNtTD6pLade8IShDmOmEDVGmwc-bCGd58XZQ5VaVABZyKhEWpn3uCIlLyV_5zJyiGYD2JCSPW4IXhe1TgkOER0aqDlFNjuFO92gQ44Vrdf3xG_L56Ko/s1600/IMG_1579.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuQ3BrkUrnzAsrmDtB3IJi5G7HNNtTD6pLade8IShDmOmEDVGmwc-bCGd58XZQ5VaVABZyKhEWpn3uCIlLyV_5zJyiGYD2JCSPW4IXhe1TgkOER0aqDlFNjuFO92gQ44Vrdf3xG_L56Ko/s320/IMG_1579.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
OK, this is the last time I can use it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHs_hSlQvsAwjYBq5pBfWuiBHYcw3VVWEr0KGFTBub_4jcEpHlerCgQbOzEXfXlDoIHPSx0_W4EFphDF2EkUD8BJUzaY7jBKp_H9SChPSJ-JDYME3o8WiWJbRcYXenWqHHljAuEQlmwaw/s1600/IMG_1580.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHs_hSlQvsAwjYBq5pBfWuiBHYcw3VVWEr0KGFTBub_4jcEpHlerCgQbOzEXfXlDoIHPSx0_W4EFphDF2EkUD8BJUzaY7jBKp_H9SChPSJ-JDYME3o8WiWJbRcYXenWqHHljAuEQlmwaw/s320/IMG_1580.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then I trimmed away the fabric, making a 1/4" seam allowance.<br />
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAlHeW_mvCm1MwJW-xrfApMplVXVBngQfNptnW5shRLqUGkxc8SbH576MtxPy7ZOAzThNGFG8EKoUPxN6tztiQHtUgli8bEBN0TFHwYy23BfNk7tgaP810yr7YA3ExRYlbm1Tm1Nj3jdo/s1600/IMG_1581.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAlHeW_mvCm1MwJW-xrfApMplVXVBngQfNptnW5shRLqUGkxc8SbH576MtxPy7ZOAzThNGFG8EKoUPxN6tztiQHtUgli8bEBN0TFHwYy23BfNk7tgaP810yr7YA3ExRYlbm1Tm1Nj3jdo/s320/IMG_1581.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I pressed the seams open. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I use to press them to one side, but I think there is too much bulk that way.<br />
<br />
Now it is time to sew the binding on. Lets hope I finish today. <br />

I think it came out very cheery. I especially like the black and white gingham checked binding and the white and black backing fabric. Of course, I also like the top.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVECx6Be6182ZhMIC5QD5Og97uUxEcc0qD5_o47RYYIn-dkK2xjZTO9Z3bccJS8gcE5WR_MdMKc1tbyWDuVdxd1YwlUiy2fYNBXvAOLTIUWnSBoVB2YB48iPBKFPHn2_5YaSVVCIVoe_s/s1600/IMG_1492.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVECx6Be6182ZhMIC5QD5Og97uUxEcc0qD5_o47RYYIn-dkK2xjZTO9Z3bccJS8gcE5WR_MdMKc1tbyWDuVdxd1YwlUiy2fYNBXvAOLTIUWnSBoVB2YB48iPBKFPHn2_5YaSVVCIVoe_s/s320/IMG_1492.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5731659415881371746" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlgSdSJ9pIKmhpPW0M8_RTonGnnyyijrGNq0GRll_Iyhg7LiOzHudIqMiFoCNISOZ1Ce0ZTM9-mUV2b-KyvV3wEYnixyyEZrYTTqWrjAJ9lZYSAUCgicm0YxH0IGFomatcGsa8pEwGCZk/s1600/IMG_1493.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlgSdSJ9pIKmhpPW0M8_RTonGnnyyijrGNq0GRll_Iyhg7LiOzHudIqMiFoCNISOZ1Ce0ZTM9-mUV2b-KyvV3wEYnixyyEZrYTTqWrjAJ9lZYSAUCgicm0YxH0IGFomatcGsa8pEwGCZk/s320/IMG_1493.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5731659419249515522" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5tzllIaleCmRlLtIpWoF7gZSIQ_HbjbsT8qbERPkl9QCmbUqX4h5uxDEs259L2x5DuU5cMA1bp-eB4O2ULejpMBc1YKzEVlubyqYrKPGkKTVWo2n3kVzYF1S_XMHt4vJtjZuUEPvEcXg/s1600/IMG_1496.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5tzllIaleCmRlLtIpWoF7gZSIQ_HbjbsT8qbERPkl9QCmbUqX4h5uxDEs259L2x5DuU5cMA1bp-eB4O2ULejpMBc1YKzEVlubyqYrKPGkKTVWo2n3kVzYF1S_XMHt4vJtjZuUEPvEcXg/s320/IMG_1496.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5731659427641989490" border="0" /></a><br />I quilted it with a diagonal serpentine stitch. But today I had the day off and spent it finishing up a ton of little things.<br /><br />Here are just a few of the items I finished up today.<br /><br />I make padded covers for small notebooks that I sell at quilt shows along with my patterns and Stitching Lines. Actually, lest you think I am Superwoman, I finished these the other day along with about eight others! But I did finally photograph them today!!<br />That, in itself, is an accomplishment!<br />I also sell them on my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/marinandcolusa">Etsy</a> shop. There is a link on the right side of my blog for my Etsy shop.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZtuX-1ovFL5nu8gJWzXX4xnbCF65paS78hNlnkeAOVM0Cn8jPm5UNZrHYsRo7TqC839Aa3CWTPiy6gsAh6LiwmY60-kv0qs1FN_-vRlf4K_2rKqdm2FA4SGniaJqsH0g7-6oteTFVNHU/s1600/IMG_1434.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZtuX-1ovFL5nu8gJWzXX4xnbCF65paS78hNlnkeAOVM0Cn8jPm5UNZrHYsRo7TqC839Aa3CWTPiy6gsAh6LiwmY60-kv0qs1FN_-vRlf4K_2rKqdm2FA4SGniaJqsH0g7-6oteTFVNHU/s320/IMG_1434.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5728432357790292994" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPBRTDnlJ39LVQ4q2eR-xR0WSKssZUKHOFdmnaj_rcCrlxFAj-7jh9atV-MNuIKZL_LozQuETCcBEwDqLGtEIe524YXPQ_aTOcY_IaGj5M3ivZHcwC8-JbLFqRmULiFv1KwYOkXUyYdSA/s1600/IMG_1445.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPBRTDnlJ39LVQ4q2eR-xR0WSKssZUKHOFdmnaj_rcCrlxFAj-7jh9atV-MNuIKZL_LozQuETCcBEwDqLGtEIe524YXPQ_aTOcY_IaGj5M3ivZHcwC8-JbLFqRmULiFv1KwYOkXUyYdSA/s320/IMG_1445.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5728432351816566658" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXExRuwZBJMrlJddGbCKPPhvj1UYZxaQkALhZ5MvdUinnDjrLhfOUTmiffvp61rAaZlxGGnWry64wQR11XfYLW6u46s2cDeZkuPgS79wXNW-CZMSMsHM7vbhf0XBhM3Grmgjqie6szq7I/s1600/IMG_1446.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXExRuwZBJMrlJddGbCKPPhvj1UYZxaQkALhZ5MvdUinnDjrLhfOUTmiffvp61rAaZlxGGnWry64wQR11XfYLW6u46s2cDeZkuPgS79wXNW-CZMSMsHM7vbhf0XBhM3Grmgjqie6szq7I/s320/IMG_1446.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5728432365342028146" border="0" /></a>I finished up more pincushions and started taking photos of all. Going to Henderson, Nevada again. It was a good little show last year. Hope for a repeat this year!<br />Thought I should check my laptop and little receipt printer before I packed tonight. Good thing I did. The roll of receipt paper was just about gone. Neither Staples nor Office Depot carries the size of thermal paper roll that the machine takes............OF COURSE, I find this out at the last minute!!<br />So I bought a size that is just 1/8" narrower. Seems to have screwed the printer up. So I can't use my great little POS program that Andy designed. Good thing I kept my old fashioned register. I found the key for the register...............in my money bag that was already packed in the hidden compartment of my car...........had to unpack quite a bit to get to it..............All in all........not a good evening.<br />Ahh, SLEEP, where are you!!Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04393395003479822301noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3345707899361573108.post-78376512351990307382012-02-04T09:50:00.000-08:002012-02-04T10:15:05.574-08:00Squaring Up a Quilt With BindingI don't know if I do this different from other quilters, but I have a method for squaring up my quilts after they are quilted.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj94mAQ1NB-S8eVSNKrThtRdpthrDaZ2u3TV8Uly9t8qqxlx7NXBvfN2nGyAwjrmJ6zRcg05jMiWKlkKDHcolnzCWU0X8jpvoyTbDqBIBzVv5nVVsfGRiEqOYugv874YvG0WSY2CWFLrLM/s1600/photo+2a.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj94mAQ1NB-S8eVSNKrThtRdpthrDaZ2u3TV8Uly9t8qqxlx7NXBvfN2nGyAwjrmJ6zRcg05jMiWKlkKDHcolnzCWU0X8jpvoyTbDqBIBzVv5nVVsfGRiEqOYugv874YvG0WSY2CWFLrLM/s320/photo+2a.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5705343529976378082" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I don't have much of a problem with out-of-square tops after I put them together, but things can change after I wash the quilt.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3M0g7bSNGc71qMg_mV6l6Lcik6LB0Q0YqBvFYpuy24JDZH_-fDWWZfVllxIj_3FXVhtPKGnJhL6qZkc6MPjTseBBgRAbtyVeCUWy55uhCNTeRMSWKYDL70HNTfl8EgnfwTre0Kcx-aS0/s1600/photo+1a.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 239px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3M0g7bSNGc71qMg_mV6l6Lcik6LB0Q0YqBvFYpuy24JDZH_-fDWWZfVllxIj_3FXVhtPKGnJhL6qZkc6MPjTseBBgRAbtyVeCUWy55uhCNTeRMSWKYDL70HNTfl8EgnfwTre0Kcx-aS0/s320/photo+1a.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5705343520857920402" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I like to wash my quilts after I quilt them. I love the look of a crinkled up quilt. Sometimes, though, after I quilt an all-over meandering stitch, the top can get a little longer or shorter on a side or two. In the shrinking process, one side might shrink up more than the other, because of a little more quilting, or who knows what. Anyway, I don't put binding on until after I wash the quilt. Then I use the binding as an evener-upper. If one side is a tiny bit longer than the other, I just ease the quilt to the binding. It doesn't take much, just a little stretching of the binding before sewing it down.<br /><br />Even though I almost always wash my fabric first before cutting, I like to put the binding fabric in the wash, again, along with the quilt, so I am sure that most of the fabric shrinkage has taken place before I sew it on the quilt.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitLb2_9ExjriAbiXfUgSBDPaT_gt8tDg-Bv12RMDjjD5LNwPF7PEPO5Ap1WT8QN_fJQ25WCJtINmW_rAZeEJvfH3pOLrZLIi7FL0LORTuqPXBHc1_pD15h5_Zxs3510UtTwtob9HIsL94/s1600/photo+2.JPG"></a>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04393395003479822301noreply@blogger.com3
