Star Lattice

My husband Dave bought me a new camera this week. He crunched (literally) my old one in the top of his convertible Honda. It fell into the folds of the soft top! Anyway, I think I like it. It seems to take better photos than my Olympus.
This is a new quilt design that I am working on. I think I will call it Star Lattice, unless something more interesting pops into my head.
One day. I was just thinking, that it might be fun to put all the piecing into the lattice and let the big blocks remain plain and unpieced. I think it worked out real nice. Of course, I got to use lots of scraps, which is my favorite kind of quilt. I am working on a smaller version right now that is more of a planned scrappy. I am liking the first one better. The more fabrics there are in a quilt, the more interesting to me.

Stitching Lines

Stitching Lines is proving to be very popular. As word gets out, I am getting more and more orders. I am thrilled that quilters think my idea is a good one. Drawing the line on the back of squares over and over was always such a pain. Not until I introduced my Stitching Lines, did I realize that so many other quilters had the same complaint. I am looking forward to growing my business and showing quilters that there is a better and faster method available.

Quilt Show

I'd say the South Bay Quilter's Guild Quilt Show this past weekend was a success. Although the guild members said that attendance was lower this year, I would say the show was a success for me. I demonstrated "Stitching Lines" for two days and they were received quite well. Saturday was much better than Sunday, which was almost a bust. But all in all, I was happy with the show. Next show will be in June in Santa Monica. Two lovely ladies came by my booth and told me that I had been accepted into their show.

I am excited to add two new products to my website......................ahhhhhh, Andy added them for me! I have finally finished Split Medallion. I love this quilt. It has been super easy to make and I love the look of circular objects without sewing a curved line. Amie Potter quilted this lap size. She "saw" exactly what I "saw"...................the circles and the diamond shapes. It is so great to send a quilt off to a quilter and have it come back better than before. Thank you Amie!
I have also developed a new product I call Stitching Lines. I have always found the chore of drawing diagonal lines on the backs side of squares to be tedious and time consuming. Stitching Lines eliminates that step in quiltmaking. I spent a lot of time finding the right paper. With other products, the paper does not always peel away easily. The paper I use peels away quick and easy without little tiny pieces stuck in the stitching line.

New Block of the Month

I have started a new Free Block of the Month (or thereabouts) I am calling it Computer Desk. It might be silly, but I am having fun with it. My son will hopefully have it up on my website early this week. When it is all done, I am going to hang it up in my loft where I have my office. I have even put a couple of photos of Tess on the screen! Some of the pieces will be small, but all will be doable.
(Is that a word?) Look for a nice wood grain fabric for the cabinet, either dark of light. And I picked a dark brown swirl print for the interior. The rest of the fabrics will just come from my stash. Join me this year in making Computer Desk.

Vacation and Quilt Show

We left for a short little vacation to Arizona and New Mexico the day after Christmas. The scenery was beautiful and we hit lots of snow. My dog Tess was left behind in the care of my daughter Carol and her husband Doug. So Tess was happy that she got to spend time with Doug, whom she adores. I'm not sure she even missed us!
