Leo Carrillo Ranch

This morning, my son Andy and I spent an hour or so at Leo Carrillo Ranch Park in Carlsbad. It was a perfect morning to go there. The flowers are all in bloom and the peacocks are everywhere. A few years ago, my daughter Carol had her wedding at the Ranch. It was a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding.

Topsy Turvy Timber

These are the fabrics that I will be using to make my baby size Topsy Turvy Timber. It might end up looking a little like a Christmas quilt. It won't take long to find out. I purchased the border fabric and the background fabric, but I pulled the others from my stash. I had even purchased three greens. But in the end, I decided to go with some other prints. And that is really my favorite way to find fabrics. Buy a little. Use a little stash. I think it makes for an interesting quilt.

I Found My Lost Camera

Sure 'nough. I found it. I knew as soon as I blogged about not finding it, the camera would show up. And wouldn't you know it was in a place where I looked over and over.
Anyway, here is a quick peek at my Topsy Turvy Timber quilt. I used lots of Stitching Lines. Not only was it faster, but I was able to make half-square triangles that didn't need squaring up. Hooray! I am now starting a baby size to see if cutting amounts are correct. Not that I need a baby quilt in the near future!!

Where or Where Has My Camera Gone?

Today is just one of those days, which followed another one of those days. I cannot find my digital camera ANYWHERE!!! And I think I have looked EVERYWHERE!! Well, I guess I haven't looked everywhere or I would have found it by now. I am at the point where I am going to blame others for misplacing my camera. And that's hard to do since only two of us live here and I have already called up Dave and asked him if he used it. Can you tell I am frustrated??
I wanted to post a picture of my Topsy Turvy Quilt, the one I had a heck of a time quilting yesterday. But, you will have to take my word for it. I quilted it. I haven't bound it, but it is done and I like it.
I finished the directions for this new quilt yesterday, so now I will begin testing it and pass it around to others to test. Hope to have it finished soon.

Quilting a Quilt

I have been dragging out a quilting job all day. I guess because I can't see where I have been, because of the thread color, that I am just not enjoying this today. My back aches and my feet hurt and my eyes are tired. And now I found that the last four or five inches, I have to rip out. Something was wrong with the tension. And that never seems to happen. Why today, why me? I ask!!

Twitter

I've joined the Twitter group! Only problem is that I don't really know what it is all about. There's not much room to write anything. But I hear that it is a good place to network, so I am giving it a go. I played around with the backgrounds and colors and decided to put up a picture of my Spanish Tiles quilt. It's the one that I made into a kit and have on my website. And I already have two followers. Well, one doesn't really count. One is my son Andy. The other is Kona Bay Fabrics. How she she found me is beyond my comprehension!

San Diego

Dave and I spent a nice day down at the San Diego Harbor today, although, I forgot to take my camera. And no pictures from my cell phone either. It was dead! Anyway, we visited two or three boats and took two boat rides on the water. I have a sunburned face to prove it. I forgot to put on sunscreen. We went on an old Russian submarine built in the 70's and an old boat that costarred with Russell Crowe in a movie that I can't remember. I never touched my sewing machine all day!

Stitching Lines Revisited

On another blog, I saw that someone had done something called a Slideshare. It looked like fun, but I think it was beyond me. Since I had taken the photos already, I though I would just make up another Slideshow. Much easier for me.........................
Thank you to everyone who has purchased Stitching Lines. They have become very popular.
